I think you're missing the point, Peter.

On a related note, my school thought I was a Nazi and watched me closely for 2 years because in a report on Hitler I said he was a brilliant man who used his strengths for sheer evil. Now how is that justifying what he did?

He was a very intelligent man. He is revered for his speeches. The German people needed someone to lead them out of the depression that they were in after WWI. He said that he would do it, and he did. He just used his power for evil, not good.

Brillant and smart does not always mean good. Hitler managed to make millions believe in his insane ideologies, so he obviously knew how to manipulate people into beleiving whatever they were told.
Now I hope nobody manages to interpret that as praise for Hitler.

Your comments are interesting relative to the Barack Obama campaign... amazing how much power elocution and rhetoric have on people looking for an easy out. I support Obama but I am a little worried about his popular appeal.
Ive noticed when he speaks extemporaneously, he isnt nearly as impressive - a lot of UM and UM, AH pauses and much shorter sentences.

Back to the subject of Jews, there was one instance when the term was used with hate but to a positive end - in the movie 'Saving Private Ryan' when passing German troops were taunted by American Jewish soldiers as 'Juden'.

                        Source?

Read your history books, please. Hint: look at what he did before the 30's.
warning: this post may contain traces of irony.

He united Germans by appealing to thier nationalism at the time when their national identity was lacking. But specifically by giving them a common enemy, the jews. Thus allowing German people to blame the jews for everything wrong with the current state of affairs instead of righty blaming themselves. Thus providing a scape goat. He joins other tyrrans that stayed on message while maintaining control using force. Nothing original about it.

He's far from great speaker. I don't speak German but I doubt a lot is lost in translation. His speaches are kind of like a boy band that can't sing but still puts on a hell of a show by appealing to naive 14 year old girls.

This didn't work out too well. Number of technological advances were made during that period but none could ever be attributed to Hitler. All he did was allow engineers and scientist to do what they do.

In my opinion, if he had intelligence he'd recognize that occupation of the world would have never worked long term. Nothing brilliant about him.

Thank you Jordan. THAT is what I was trying to say.

You want my source? My source is my Social Studies teacher and quite a few more people who I have known for years and are complete history buffs.

I'm getting a tad pissed off with this "Anti Semitic, Anti Polish, 148 km. hr. in a 40 km. hr. restriction is good !!" bullshit.

This is an aviation enthusiasts website....not a racist site, even though this may be an "Off topic" forum. A lot of what is being said here is not only grievously offensive, it is also prosecutable in some countries.....countries that some of you live in !!

By the way...the Nazi's didn't invent the concentration camp. Us Brits did that during the Crimean war !! Don't I feel proud now 'eh ?

Admin. For f***s sake lock this and any other racist crap that starts here.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

If I may insist, please enlighten me. You made some very serious accusations in this thread. If someone was to make a similar statement on aviation related matter without backing it up, you already would be jumping to the poster’s throat. At least in aviation matter your arrogance is partially balanced by your knowledge.
