  • The day a pilot earned his pay...

It wasn't until it turned off the runway that I realised I'd been holding my breath !!

Awesome video. I promise that landing was some of the most fun that pilot has had in an airplane. I absolutely love when the weather sucks. I'd rather shoot an ILS to mins and land with a strong crosswind any day than shoot yet another visual.

Just tell us when and where so we can all show up and document it for a future Darwin Award

Interesting, worth the look. The pilots look handling the Jungle Jet like a glider.

^Seen that one before, great to watch again though. Good lesson in how to crab and use slipstreaming to your advantage.

This one time at flying camp, I landed a 747 in a hurricane...

                  ....I landed a 747 in a hurricane
...and the owner of the hurricane was REALLY pissed off. So much so that he went out and bought a spitfire and shot down the next 747 he saw !!

Was watching near enough the same kind of approach at Aberdeen involving a BD Emb on Monday waiting in a BA 320 to come back to London .

Thankfully the wind died down a little when we took off and did not get shaken that much, though certainly was a fun ride.

Thank God. I thought this story was going to involve a model.

I guess you have no plans to mention that both of those conditions are easier to land a CRJ in than "another visual".

True...that being said visuals are really easy to fly....if you turn off the autopilot.

I usually find it pretty funny watching guys work 10 times as hard as they have to spinning knobs than they would if they just hit the big red button and flew it the fun way.
