  • Lockerbie style compensation sought from Israel by Libyans

    Libyan and Egyptian relatives of the 116 people who were killed when a Libyan Arab Airlines 727 was shot down by the Israelis in 1973, the airliner had strayed into then Israeli occupied Sinai peninsula(in Egypt) while operating a scheduled flight to Cairo, they are seeking 10 million Dollars per passenger in settlement.

      I agree.

      While were at it, let's include the Iran Air A300 that was shot down over the Persian Gulf in the late 80's killing 290 innocent people. Did the US ever pay compensation?

        only thing the US said was that it was an accident.

        not paid as its still being fought in US supreme court, though some pax did recieve a small amount of compensation, far less than that of PA103.

        it's that shooting down of the IranAir a/c that seems to be the most compelling reason for the bombing of PA103


        next trips
        USA/DXB August.

          Yeah,the U.S. should be forced to pay on that one too. The Ukrainians should also pay for that Tu-154 they shot down like a year or 2 ago.

              Ummm...actually, the US and Iran DID reach a settlement to compensate the 290 victims.

              A little research goes a long way...
