Last night most of the Canadians here and also troops and cvilians from other nations gathered for a ramp ceremony to say farewell to Pte Alexandre Peloqion, a member of the famous Vandoos, as he started his long voyage home to Quebec. He was killed by an IED Monday, Canada's 119 casualty in this conflict.
It was an honour to be there, the emotion of those gathered was incredible and difficult to describe. The casket was piped onto a Herc and it was over. He was only 20 and survived by his mother.
Je me souviens (I will remember).

As an aside, the ramp was shared with an RAF Tristar 500-the crew was out front of their aircraft in a mark of respect
