In that case I'll put £1,000 down at 1000/1 on it being permanent.

....but then again, I do have insider knowledge !!!

If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

I have no clue when it comes to betting.. but I take that to mean it really is permanent?

There is a HUGE difference between funny banter and personal insults mixed with racism.

In my job we live on banter to keep us alive and sane and it works well....

....but you step over the line into bullying, harassment and racism and you are in DEEEEEEP poo. It can cost you your job.

Good God, what a boring bunch of hypocrites. How old are you on average, 90?
May I strongly suggest that some of you, and I bet you know who you are, get a real life.
And I also refer to those who posted in the closed thread.

                    Two questions for you, Brian:

                    1. How can something posted by an internet sreenname towards another internet screenname be a "personal insult"? I have no way of knowing if you are a 350lb housewife from Jonesboro, Arkansas rather than a paramedic from Britain, so how can anything I say to you (insulting or otherwise) be "personal"?

                    2. Have you seen and/or experienced any real racism or bigotry? I ask because if you had, I'd think you wouldn't trivialize them by equating ITS' antics to real prejudice and hatred. They're quite a ways apart.

I think the problem is rather the opposite, the average age seems to be about 12, except that rather than handling their own problems these children tend to run to mommy at every turn.

                      Sad, really.

Point taken. 12 year olds pretending to be, or with the mind of 90 year olds.
By mommy I expect you mean mods?

Point 1. It doesn't matter that you don't know me (300 lb paramedic from Britain !!, not many argue with me ). the point is that if one "screenname" directly addressess another "screenname"....then it's a personal communication by default as no other "screenname" has been addressed.
This from an online thesaurus. Text in red is highlighted by me as being relevant in this context..

                            Main Entry:personal
                            Part of Speech:adjective
                            Definition:private, individual
Synonyms:claimed, exclusive, intimate, own, particular, peculiar, privy, retired, secluded, secret, special
Notes:personal means concerning or affecting a particular person; personnel are the people employed by or active in an organization, business, or service
                            Antonyms:general, public

                            Main Entry:characteristic
                            Part of Speech:adjective

                            Point 2.

Yes, I've seen racism and bigotry in many of it's worst forms. In my job alone in the UK I see it, have been a victim of it and have to occasionally sweep up the bits of horror it leaves behind.
I saw it in Northern Ireland, Saudi Arabia, South America, South Africa and .....some of it the worse kind.... in the good ole' US of A, the land of the free !

ITS has a deep knowledge of things to do with aviation. That I do not dispute. He did not get his ban for any comments made about aviation fact. His ban came about because he couldn't let his overblown ego stop him from going over the top into unacceptable attacks against individuals and type groups. The owners of this site are required to maintain a standard of useage, that standard is defined in the site's terms of use which you agree to when you sign up here. Step outside of that standard enough times and the site owners have no other choice but to issue a ban. ITS served a few short term bans, he didn't take any notice of the reasons why and is therefore no longer here.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

They are? By whom? And if they are, why is that standard not upheld in so many other instances, but seems to be upheld almost religiously with respect to ITS? Does that not show some sort of a bias and maybe even (gasp) bigotry, to which you are so vehemently opposed?
