Sound Problems

Ok guys, im hoping someone can help me here.

I turn on my computer, its ok I can play music fine. As soon as i go to youtube or open itunes, I lose all sound until I restart my computer. I use Windows Media for music playback, and I don't really care about itunes, but this is starting to fuck me off because as soon as I visit youtube, I lose all sound on my computer till it's been restarted.

Any Ideas?

Are you using Vista?
The sound mixer in Vista and Windows 7 has individual volume levers for each program. Check that the levers for your browser and iTunes are not muted.

You might want to check your preferences settings for which player is set to default. iTunes can be pretty invasive and may have changed your default from Windows Media Player to something else iTunes prefers.

Using Microsoft XP, F'ing hate Vista.

i've played around with the settings and have youtube back, but still the problems with itunes. Oh well, only use it when new music is going on my ipod so ill live.
