  • Tips to reduce Depression

    Hello everyone,

I am going to discuss some tips to reduce depression.

    1. Do not read newspapers.

Newspapers publish negative stories most of the time. Even in peaceful periods, newspapers will find the worst in humanity and place negative stories on display in order to promote sales and subscribers. Stories focused on War, rebellion, death, destruction, doom and despair abound in the newspapers.

You will not miss any news. Friends, family, and your local air raid siren will keep you informed if your attention is needed. Only pay attention to the things you can control in your life.

Stop reading the newspaper and reduce the negative input to your brain.

    2. Turn off your television.

Watching and listening about the horrible economy and the losses associated with War will add to depression. In fact, you guarantee the feeling of helplessness. Helplessness allows depression to nurture. If you really need to watch or listen to these kinds of news stories, promise yourself you will bury yourself in the documentaries that are sure to follow in the next 5 or 10 years. A way you can eliminate most of the negative input to your brain is by setting it aside for a date somewhere in the future. I guarantee in the future, you will not find it very interesting.

When visitors come to your home, make sure you turn off your television and keep it off. News television broadcasters are fighting for your guests' attention as they promote despair, war, death, and destruction with many headline news interruptions. Those little banners that run across the bottom of the screen achieve your attention and they take hold of your consciousness. Television will diminish your positive spirit.

Yes. But I'm still lookin for the town/airport... Theoretically, I have some in mind, but I don't know if I can get used to christmas on the beach...

Miami?, San Francisco (as a NorthEuropean needs at least some wind) or New York (I learned that they eventually have hot summers...), Barcelona or Rome.

The right place to live, so that you are not depressed because the village not even has a police station... I absolutely second that attitude, for me that means, overseas connection has to be near, I like cities with approx 400,000-900,000 citizens, I'm a city kid.
But livin in a metropolis like NYC maybe is also a good thing.

That's good manners. You would only have the TV on if your friends are there to watch a sporting event or a movie.

You obviously haven't experienced mainstream culture in the UK (unsurprisingly, a real world leader when it comes to bipolar disorder). Thankfully, I don't usually experience it either

Nope Tom you are wrong too, booze only makes you forget for a couple of hours, and comes back even worse then. Solarium is okay, but far the best effect I have found is from buying shoes

                cheers, Pamela

Pam my dear...all that means is you have to drink some more. I spent a weekend with Chris, James, and Jid, it is possible for one to live off of beer and be happy all the time.

Ouch, well you are absolutely right that is what you end up with if you do it too often. (I only do 15 minutes a week or in 2 weeks to become off-white

Haha, I bet you had a good time. Drinking heavily more doesn't work well anymore for me, during drinking it is all oke but the hangover takes about two days... I enjoy my shoes better

hangover takes about two days... Well isnt it, everybody wants YOUNG employees (younger than 28, as some aviation groups think), not people who are drunk after 1/2 glass.

Heavy drinking is not 1/2 glass in my dictionary, but more like several bottles of wine or a bottle of wisky...taken by one person
