  • New Computer Warning

I have just got a new computer! It is 2.8GHz, 1 Gig Ram, Many Many Gig hard drive (like a zillion mp3s or something!), 256Mb graphics card.

BUT...It has no operating system. I am going to try and install it!

If you don't hear from me for a long long time, it hasn't gone according to plan.

    Ciao!

I'm BACK! I have installed Windows XP Pro - none of this Home malarky for me thankyou!

Its not a Geforce (pah, amateurs), its a Radeon I actually have no clue about graphics cards, but mine is OBVIOUSLY the best :P But IT has no drivers, so them i must find! Ho Hum.

DOwnloaded the ATI driver pack. Ran it. It says it can't install the drivers unless there are some drivers already installed. But i can't install drivers because their aren't... eh?!

And its been going for 10 hours and has not even got half way copying all my stuff over the network off the old machine!

you might be an island hopper pilot if:

                  1. Turning on the airconditioning involves opening the cockpit window

                  2. The cabin door is in need of ductape

Well, I have no complaints with my machine anyway.

If you can't think of anything else, try installing the standard VGA graphics adapter drivers first. Your desktop needs to be at 640X480 and 16 colours. Once you have installed the VGA driver you can, if I remember correctly, install the ATI drivers.
Once they are installed, you can change the resolution, colour depth and refresh rate. I think... -Pepe-
