OK, maybe not as gory as you were looking for, but...
Compared to...?
I'll explain more, make up 2 things that sound bad, and if you had to have one done/happen to you, which one wouldn't you choose, thus the name, which is worse.
Whoever the fellow was who suggested solitary confinement has a good point. Solitary will slowly but surely drive you insane. A very effective torture method.
If you have ever seen the movie Shawshank Redemption, you know what I'm talking about. The main charactor is given 30 days in the hole-no human contact for an entire month.
Or, Tom hanks in Cast Away. Most people would have jumped off that cliff after 4 years of being stranded on that island. BTW, was that an A300 or a MD-11 (Fed Ex) that Hanks ditches into the Pacific?
I just finished watching Cast Away, and I'm pretty sure its the A300/A310 series of aircraft. I didn't get the side profile, so I couldn't differentiate between the two.

Every day patronising (American ) tourists asking me things like "Is this the right terminal for international flights. To America?" while talking very slowly.
Or the same people asking if this is the right terminal for "British Air".
BTW I work somewhere at Gatwick Airport.
