    I wasn't talking about flightradar24 Erwin.
    I was talking about Casper.
They are absolutely not always showing the exact positions of aircraft flying over my house.

Security reasons? Never heard of that and the positions should be accurate.
flightradar24 picks up the signal of the ADS-B trancievers directly from the aircraft so how would they change the position.
We have now one MD-11 wich is visible on flightradar24. She is for now the only one with the ADS-B transciever on board.

The planes you can't see just don't have the ADS-B yet.

flightradar24 seems to be very accurate. Numerous times I've been watching planes fly by where I live on flightradar24 and seeing them in the exact same place out of my window.

I use Plane Finder on my iPhone.

I really like it. It shows you all the aircraft information and is linked to the GPS from the iPhone. Whenever you start the application, you directly at the right position on the map.

But I have to admit it's a great website.
I always use it, when sitting in my backyard on a sunny day, watching the sky above me.

It is not new though, it is around for some years, at least for AMS. It used to be real time for free I now prefer flightradar24.com, which is real time and for free

    cheers, Pamela

    Casper flights Radar viewing page

I've recently discovered a new page called http://casperflights.com/ which is excellent, giving 15 minute delayed traffic, which moves, compared to other sites where the traffic is static but updates every minute (eg planefinder/radarvirtuel)

I encourage you all to check it out.

ALSO don't forget if you pay them the 5 euro subscription you can view LIVE traffic too, which also moves and also matches exact positions too!
Working...
