I would have liked to see (R)nold be a little more conservative. A little too moderate for me. But still it will be nice to see a Republican in office

I voted for Retired Denture Manufacturer Ivan A. Hall.

(Yes, he was really on the ballot, among many other whackos)

I was very sad that Mary Carey did not win. It would have been a case of two boobs replacing just one boob.

Not that I live in California, but I do believe that Gray Davis was a sub-standard Governor. That said, the whole recall concept is ridiculous. By all means, have an impeachment mechanism for cases of criminal malfeasance, but if people were able to recall their leaders for perceived incompetence, then we'd be regularly recalling half the leaders in this country.

I still think Mary Carey would have made a better Governor than Arnold. Oh, well.

It's rather heartwarming to see that in America a child can still study hard, eat right, and grow up to be Fuhrer.

I dropped my jaw as it was announced tha CA's new governer would be an Austrian born actor in his late fifties that has NO political experience. I guess scores of people voted for him since it was the 'biggest' guy on the ballot...

Republican or Democrat, I have low expectations for this guy...for all of you in CA I hope he doesn't turn out to be like Ventura...

                      Sunita, I feel your pain...

I think a lot of people voted for him precisely BECAUSE he's no politician.
They've grown tired of the same old clique being elected into office and doing nothing but stuff their own pockets.

Personally I tink Arnold will do reasonably well. He may not have the best grasp of economics or diplomacy (though a few fists in the right place make an excellent argument) but he IS smart enough to enlist an excellent team of advisors (something most born and bred politicians are not, they think they know it all themselves which is part of the reason they screw up all the time).

Uh, try seven Mr. Univese titles......Acting came later....read the book.

He will do just fine, his family will hep him i'm sure. After a loser like Davis, probably anyone on that list Clovis had could do better...

...and I am sure that being a Mr. Universe title winner multiple times has anything to do with being the governer of Americ's most populated state...
