  • American hypocricy

The American govt. has lifted embargo inmposed on some dozen odd countries mainly in Africa and eastern Europe by making them sign an agreement that guarantees that they will not extradite US citizens to be tried in the international court of law for war crimes committed by them, the country is also in talks with some other nations to sign the treaty and have their embargos lifted. Disgraceful.

I'm unaware of any trade embargos against any European nation. Perhaps you can shed some light on that?

The U.S. government is doing what it charged with doing. It is protecting its citizens. It is guaranteed that some nation with a grudge against the United States will use The International Kangaroo Court against the U.S. and to try and haul American Citizens before it and have them sent to prison on trumped up charges.

If you read the language in the ICC treaty, it includes the ability to punish a soldier for "damaging the natural environment". What the heck is this? It is totally open ended and can be used to prosecute anyone for simply crushing a weed.

In case you didn't know, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution 98-0 stating that if the ICC treaty was presented to it for ratification, they would reject it by the same margin. Its obvious even to the U.N. lovers in the Senate that this treaty is nothing but an attempt by an organization run by two bit, third world dictators to screw over the United States.

China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico the DPRK and other nations have also not signed on to this ICC, but you will not see criticism on them. You will not see overzealous leftists whine about their obvious hypocricy. Nope, only the US is guilty of such.

Hey, criticizing these countries is not as glamorous and PC as attacking the US...

So we're supposed to assume that you folks like the political company of Kim Jong-Il?

The point is that your government is constantly telling us how much they're doing for freedom, peace and justice in all parts of the world... seems odd.

              "Disgraceful"?

Since when are the time-honored arts of Diplomacy and International Negotiation "disgraceful"?

If what you report is true, then it sounds more like good old horse-trading: these nations have something the US wants, and the US has something that they want.
