What contact details they left? A landline? A business email or a Yahoo? Do they have a physical address? Did you Google them or checked their reviews? That's good to start with.

Defiantly, now that I think about it, a media company wanting to use your assets with their work without pay seems a bit off.

At least they asked for your permission first, I guess. A lot of people don't even do that anymore. If they don't, file a DMCA strike against them. Their hosting company MUST act on it and remove your content, and after a couple of strikes they will be in trouble.

Seems a bit one-sided to me. I give permissions for single defined usage against a consideration. I don't understand why large corporations think they have the right to trample all over small suppliers.
Then again, I'm not trying to make a living from my images, so perhaps I'm missing something.

I replied that the message had been received overnight as we were in different time zones. Linked-in shows a profile of a News Director/Reporter.
There has been no response to my e-mail giving my conditions for the use of my photographs/intellectual property.
It occurs to me that if I had dialled the number given I might have been paying for a premium call.
I wonder if it was a scam and whether others receive such messages. I'll be looking for a space on Jetphotos where I can display my general rules of engagement and a sample comtract.
OTOH, I do have some captures online currently which may be newsworty e.g. 737-MAX's El-al special liveries etc.
