  • r/c cars..

Anyone recommend a decent r/c car/truck? Electric preferred, nothing too difficult now... :P

post pics if you got 'em, and why you recommend it.

    Thanks..

Petrol, but starts at the push of a button...

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

I had a cool Maclaren F1 RC car when I lived in Germany. I say had because it didn't survive a trip down the marble stairs very well . That thing hauled ass though.

If you go to Costco or Sam's Club, they have these humongous practically "life-sized" R/C Hummer H2's, which look really nice, and Volkswagon Bugs, if you're interested.

              r/c cars

when i was still into r/c cars and boats, i always liked tamiya's products, mostly because you actually build it yourself. the first page of the instruction book said, in large type, "this is not a toy!".

also check team associated's rc10. there's lots more out there: do you want to get your hands dirty, or do you want something ready to go out of the box? do you want off-road, or a road racer? small-scale or large? electric or gas? the list goes on...

my vote for the coolest r/c "toy" this year: seen at toys 'r' us, the r/c ski-doo endorsed by bombardier. it was so big you could sit a small child on it and take him for a ride (not recommended)!

but why limit yourself to stuff on the ground when you can go big and fly a ducted-fan airplane? check the following links:

of course, you don't have to limit yourself to military aircraft:

these puppies can go 160mph with the engines screaming at 20,000rpm! a lot more fitting for the aviation enthusiast, don't you think?

I've already got r/c planes. I've been flying them for over 13 years.

The r/c truck would be for a 5 year old.

                Thanks everyone.

Thanks Jess. The T-Maxx is cool, but might be a little much for a little guy.

I've given two of the previous versions of this truck to 5 year olds with good result. Just be sure to get spare battery packs and a quick charger.
