I don't know if I would go that far; they probably could have still defeated the Germans, but at a much higher cost (like hundreds of thousands of additional British casualties) They were certainly better off because we were there, though.

Also- WWII was not won by special forces. You would have been in some serious trouble without the thousands of bombers and crews that the US sent over there...but, believe what you want...
