portable vhf radio

Hello

I am studying for my C.P.L and am interested in buying a vhf radio to further my aeronautical language skills. Also will also find it interesting listing to it while watching planes at an airport. I have about $100 U.S dollars to spend on one which is not a lot. Does anyone know of any vhf radios (model and brand please) for about that price. Also if anyone has any buying tips or information in general regarding vhf radios that would be much appreciated
