Hello there,

I went to Karachi, Pakistan this summer and these are changes I noticed.

Negative Changes:

. Increased Air pollution.
. decrease in number of people seeker proper post-secondary education
. Lowered educational standards (community colleges being opened in small buildings, etc.).
. Increase in number of lower paid employment.
. Increased consumption of fatty foods and drinks resulting in greater incidence of heart diseases, obesity and other health problems.
. Increase in number of boys and young man making gangster film stars their role models and thus acting and dressing like them.
. The quality of language spoken has dropped (slang, profanity, incorrect grammer, and so on).
. Increase in number of robberies.

Positive Changes:

. More tolerance to other cultures, and religions.
. Greater acceptance of non muslim Pakistanis.
. Greater acceptance of Afghan refugees.
. Increased sanitation.
. Increased availability of electricity and running water.
. Technology is becoming wide spread and more people have access to it.
. Improved telephone service.
. Better police.
. A big reduction in crime rate.
. End of gang wars on streets and to huge, crippling strikes.
. Rise in patriotism and rise in solidarity (as with Pakistanis from other areas).
. Improved Health Care services.
. Reduction of hatred towards India.
