  • What do you speak?

Hi everyone! I'm kind of bored at home, so I'll have my share of starting a topic.

I see that many of you here are from the US or UK, but I'm sure many others are from various parts of the world. So here's another lame topic for you all: How many language(s) can you communicate in (fluent enough)?

For me, I'm fluent in English, French, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and some Shanghainese to be precise). I'd like to learn Spanish and Japanese also, then I can cover most of the world. :P

I have thought about starting a topic like this...

I speak both English and Spanish, and a tiny bit of French.

English is the only language I'm fluent in
I know some German from school (a few years ago now), and some French.

Oh and "Roken is dodelijk" in Dutch

I know English, of course, and Spanish, which I've taken 5 1/2 years of in school.

English. I used to could speak German pretty decently (took 3 years in High School, two quarters in College), but since I haven't used it in over 8 years, it just sits back there in the back of my brain unused. I've thought about picking it up again. I have also considered learning Gaelic (just for some fun).
