Well, I've been waiting for a full moon for a couple of months to try my luck at capturing the beauty of the moon at night. Here's one of my shots. I think I did ok considering it was my first time. If anyone else has any full moon pictures, please share
ISO 800
Shutter I think was 4000 because the moon turned out too bright when I had a slow shutter speed like 10 seconds. It looks grainy because I over sharpened it since it came out extremely soft un-processed.
I tried one with the D30, but at only 300mm, with this soft lens, and 3MP...it wasn't that good at all. But shooting the moon around 1/250th f/6.7 worked ok for me. ISO 100
Jon,
You inspired me to give it a shot. I've always wanted to shoot the moon digitally...
this is with a 1.4x sigma ex teleconverter.
It actually looked o.k. until I compressed it.
Fun stuff
great photo, I think i see that American flag :P and everyone said it was a hoax, that reminds me, the US IS going back to the moon and the newest destination announced by NASA is Mars, service starts sometime in about 20 years
