I understand and agree with Clinton's perspective. Gee, all that stuff I'm currently learning in Economics about macroeconomic theory is coming in handy

Well, the US economy is in a tight fix. Such a war could bring America back to a recession and could consequently cause stagflation. That's where inflation is caused during a recession due to higher production costs (oil). As for the US budget deficit, I agree. This war could bring the US economy back to the dismal its ways of the 70s when stagflation, trade, and budget deficits were both prevalent.
