M/43 living just east of Ottawa, Ontario under one of the approach paths to YOW. Cruised in via Bill Harms' former site. Retired Canadian Forces with most of that time spent in the Army. Many hours in all sorts of planes from C-172 to C141, (and two balloons) but never landed with most of them as I exited two miles up, hence the handle. I have been nuts about aircraft since my Dad took me to RCAF Station St Hubert for Air Force Day, outside Montreal in 1960.....Quite a few hours tooling around in private aircraft with friends, just never got around to taking my PPL. Currently unhappily retired and underemployed so am looking forward to moving closer to Toronto this summer where there are more work opportunities. Hobbies also include tinkering around the house and garden, pets(currently have just one cat but hope to get more soon again), cooking, brewing and winemaking, and especially ice hockey, having decided to convert to being a goaltender, after a particularly hard landing in 1999 made playing defence temporily impossible. (But I got a great aircraft ride out of that accident, not too many people can list being one of two pax aboard a USAF C9 Nightingale, in which I was taken from Zagreb to Ramstein, Germany to get put back together.) I have a huge pile of aircraft shots taken over the years, including a whole whack I took in 1989 while touring about Canada and the USA as a member of the Canadian Forces Parachute Team, The Sky Hawks. I need to get a scanner! Do not travel by air as much as I once did due to budgetary restrictions at present, but hope to have a new job that will permit and include same shortly.
