    Not true.
Political arguments do nothing but get good members banned (with exception of Cory) and get others pissed off at each other for what will end up proving nothing in the end. Nobody will gain anything by those little arguments, which is why they suck. And when the dust clears after they are over, everything is back at square one, and nothing is proven.
Those are "political" rants. They happen when one side closes their mind to the other side's points, and instead of debating the issue properly, do nothing but slam the other person's post (without a single sane argument), usually using a variety of emoticons ranging anywhere from " :P " to " ".

Arguments aren't necessarily to prove anything. They are there to put forth an idea, and then back it up. The ultimate aim is not to get the other person saying "I'm sorry, you are right", because that never happens. It is pretty hard to shake opinions.

EDIT: Anyway, when I said "Not True", I was referring more to the "Nobody Cares" bit.
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

You are entitled to your opinion, because it is just that, an opinion. I think you'll find that a number of people will disagree with you.

There is no justification to ban anyone so long as they keep their argument civil. It is when people start throwing around words like "raving lunatic" and "retarded" that I guess people might start putting themselves in such danger.

That's my point. Nobody knows how to keep thier arguments civil, they just turn into political rants, like T said.
