Whale explodes in Taiwan

A sperm whale, that had died after being beached, exploded in the Taiwanese city of Tainan. It was being transported to a research centre in the city when it exploded - covering people and cars in blood and entrails.

"What a stinking mess. This blood and other stuff that blew out on the road is disgusting, and the smell is really awful," said a resident

A similar thing happened about ten years ago in Oregon and the whale was blown up deliberately as a means of dispoing of it but things did not go quite as planned. Humour columnist and author Dave Barry wrote a very funny account about it. Do a search on the net for exploding whale and Dave Barry and you will find the full story and also a news video footage of the demolition. definitely worth it.
