  • METRA trains

This question pretty much applies to people in Northern Illinois/Chicagoland...or anyone else who knows- but I have been wondering- the trains with the new engines- do they have new interiors or the old/same interiors?

Thanks...just like to know before I take the Metra to Chicago...for like the 100th time....

The new Metra engines are just that-engines. They are pulling the same cars from the Metra fleet that have been in use for the last, oh, at least 10 years. They are well-maintained, though...

Just as an aside, the new engines have picked up a nickname from some of the working railroaders (myself included)- "Rocketships".
