The weater forcast was a very hot 42 degrees. Humidity was at 80%. The aircond was good in the car but 12:00 exact there was a call on teh radio that a unmarked police car had exploded on northbound freeway near vincint street. This was a catorgy 1call (police officers in danger) we were southbound near Perth aprrox 10 mins away at 100kph. I was driving and we pushed the car up to 180kph, coming off vincint street the wrong way down the road becuase car were stopped at the lights. Beofre turning onto teh freeway we let the 2 heavy fire appliances down and we took off after them. Cars were banking up so it was over to the hard shoulderon lose sand. WE arrived at teh scene to see that a truck had run into teh unmarked police carcausing the fuel tank to explode. AAs we arrived the polcie officers had managed to get out. All is history the highway was closed for 4 hours while damaged were cleared. But trying to put out the fire in 48C heat was bad. Police officers are fine now. I am back in Canberra just preparing to take the opposite leader to Papua new Guinea. Boring!
