  • 777 Question...from Cam!

It's a question, not necessarily about the engines. but in this video, what are the sounds after he takes off. It's sounds like he is cycling the gear? Can anyone shed some light. I notice it about three times.

I don't know, could it be the flaps?

For the first 2 times, it seems like its the flaps but i have no idea where the third one came from.. it could be from the slats..

If that is true then I suppose they used flap 15 for take off.

Definately sounds like the flap drive, and yes that appears to be a Flaps15 takeoff, although going purely off the sound it could be a flaps 20 takeoff too...however visually speaking it appears to be F15.

That is just one AWESOME video! . . . I love that unique 'whine' that the 777 has. You could hear it just before she accelerated in this video. I've also heard it when she's approaching Sea-Tac here in Seattle on a Korean Air 777.
