The Ahrens 404 was meant to be both a military LD3 container cargo plane and a civilian transport. It was designed for STOL capabilities, had alternate fuel use to allow it to bring supplies to small isolated area and a rear loading bicut door, which allowed loading and parachuting and was going to be built in Puerto Rico.
