  • It`s a Valmet, but it`s a Valmet L-70 Miltrainer

I`m giving this one to z740, since he steered me in the right direction.

    Cheers,

            • Thanks, Chris. I have had challenges of mine shot down way faster than that, if it`s any consolation.... ()

Now, let`s see what a nice piece of as.. tail can bring about:

              • Kjell,

Well done on the Valmet. With a name like yours it would have been embarrassing not to get it !
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

LOL, I am Norwegian, not Finnish. After your clue re colours, I was googling for light military trainers when Chris posted his Valmet suggestion, and the rest was easy. Valmet is more known here for agricultural equipment. They make Porsches (Boxter and Cayman) under licence.

                    Cheers,

                    • Well ! The front end says something like Piper...which I'm sure it isn't ?

...and the back end says that it's not that recent. The pointy fin indicates a "frisky" turn handling.

....and without a bit of a clue I'm totally lost on where to start !

                      • Brian, it is a bit of an oddball, I`ll grant you that.

The bird in question is a development of a WW II era target drone into a manned bird. It saw on and off production in the early to late sixties, but despite a good rate of speed and handling the limited payload was its Achilles heel.

There is at least one on the G-register.

                        Cheers,

As for the brownie points, G-LARK gives you a full house!
