Just wondering if anyone can recommend a place where I could take ground school via correspondence for a private pilot's licence? I'm living in a city where there's no ground school and I plan to do my flying time next summer while on vacation somewhere in southern Canada or the US.
I know many people who passed their writtens this way. Its unfortunate that you can't find an actual one. Nothing like being able to ask questions! Though there are plenty of hotlines and such you can call I suppose.

There's always John and Martha King. Chasen has a crush on both of them!
Are there any correspondence programs that anyone is aware of that they've taken and had recognized at a Canadian or American flight school? Any recommnendations of specific schools?

You will still need to find someone to endorse your logbook to take the written. I'm not sure if the online or video stuff will get you the endorsement. I won't say that it doesn't qualify though.
I would just google it, and see what comes up.
Jeppesen puts out all sorts of stuff. So does John and Martha. One word of warning about those two.... You'll need to be put on suicide watch while studying anything they put out. Awfully boring shit....

Eh, though I've only seen their Runway Safety DVD, I found it kind of entertaining the way John had a stupid humorless joke about every little thing.

Plus his wife is easy on the eyes...okay maybe not.
Martha? Only if the fate of humanity rested upon it.
There would have to be an awful damn lot of alcohol, and probably many interesting drugs involved too. I'm training with a Cessna center, which is cool because we get new 172s with G1000's. However, listening to those two yap, plus Rod and the other lesbian-looking gal, for an hour every week is a bit tough.
