I was just looking at aviation videos on youtube.
And I stumbled over this one.
What are the rules about smoking onboard the aircraft ?
The passengers are not allowed to smoke in the cabin, but the flightcrew may smoke in the cockpit ?
The ventilation system would certainly be adequate to keep the smell from being a problem, and if all up front were in one accord, I don't see why they wouldn't... especially on extended flights. You'd never be able to get everyone in the cabin in "one accord", on smoking anyhow!
Use to be not such a big deal. Ashtrays in the armrest of every seat, including the two/three/four up front... those who used them, did, and those who didn't just went right on enjoying the flight, because the ventilation system was (and still is) adequate to handle that too. Back when "live & let live" use to mean something.
Great video!
Take care,
Frank
"Don't aftermarket details save lots of trouble?" "Only if you'd rather spend less time modeling!"
Well in civilized countries smoking is not allowed in the cockpit. An NO, pilots do not get to do what they want to. lol.
That's what I thought. What captain would allow smoking in the flightdeck anyway? Unless you are in Russia or in a country with I don't give a shit attitude, However even if there is ventilation in the cockpit, I wouldn't want to work on a stinky cockpit. (Not saying that I'll ever gonna fly anyway) lol

The Rationale I have heard is that you don't want a jittery F/O who is nicotine-deprived. I'm not saying its good reasoning, but is what I have heard.
