I'm all googled out now and a little confused. Is this a European airport ?

Yes. They made a movie about the exploits in this area that were critical to WWII. Could have been a turning point for the worst.

I am located on an Island and my sole runway is just over 6200 feet long.

I am quite popular in the summer months, however in the winter i am only serviced by 2 local airlines, one of which is the name of the sea i'm located at.

There aren't that many airlines named after a sea. From there it was just a case of searching the Greek Islands.
