Single runway airport.
Started in 1945 as a military airport, but in the same year already used for the first domestic passenger flights.

In any case - there is a remote possibility of travelers to this single runway airport in April - they'll have plenty of tarmac at almost 11,000 ft, but only one airline that will bring them in...Comment

With a single runway just over 2.5km it's the largest in the country. Commenced operations towards the end of WW2.If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

The two runways, which average about 8500 ft, at this joint civil/military field form a nice V shape, and carried almost half a million passengers in/out during 2011.Comment
