That's the one, with the explanation of the "New City" as Brian mentioned a little later...

          • Single runway airport.

Started in 1945 as a military airport, but in the same year already used for the first domestic passenger flights.
            Nowadays mostly low-cost operations.

                  Just a lucky guess...

In any case - there is a remote possibility of travelers to this single runway airport in April - they'll have plenty of tarmac at almost 11,000 ft, but only one airline that will bring them in...

                  • Hmmm ..... What happens in April ?

                    Easter happens in April !!!

Easter Island airport. Served only by LAN Airlines.

Mataveri it is - figured that one ought to have been relatively easy... It is also classified as the most remote commercial airport by some counts.

                      All yours...

                      • With a single runway just over 2.5km it's the largest in the country. Commenced operations towards the end of WW2.

                            • The two runways, which average about 8500 ft, at this joint civil/military field form a nice V shape, and carried almost half a million passengers in/out during 2011.
