      • You're getting close. Think Investigate. Think Multiple Accidents. Think tying something to an OLD tree.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

              • Not London City. Getting cold now. You were closer with RAF Waddington, but this is not an RAF base.

The word Accident requires some Investigation !.......and the tree I spoke of might have had a Branch

                    • Had 3 runways, now only 1
But if East is North, you will see 4
                      Now only the vertical remains
Had 4 towers, at one time all was extant
But one had to come down to give way to a jetway
                      Elevation 17 meters/56 feet

                      Cheers,

                      • Stab in the dark: London-Stansted.
Has only one runway and I see 2 former X-shaped runways in GE
Looking at it in an easterly direction the 4 taxiways between the terminals could be taken for runways
Elevation seems about right, no idea about the towers though.

                        • Not Stansted.

                          Few more hints:

Quite a few young men who wanted to go to Sheppard were stopped short here when they failed to master the Swedish gem, or, later, the Swedish adventure.

And don`t let the 4 lead you down the garden path.

                          Cheers,

                          • Am I corrrect with the following....

"Sheppard" refers to Sheppard Air Force base in the US that supplies training to non US pilots ?

The pilots who didn't get to Sheppard are Swedish military pilots who did'nt get through some kind of training ? Therefore the airport is in Sweden ?

The 4 refers to the visible runway pattern forming a number 4 when viewed from the east ?

                                That is quite correct.

Yes, and no. The disappointed young men did not master the Swedish built aircraft and thus did not get to go to Sheppard AFB for further training. But the aformentioned young whippersnappers were not Swedish.

Not from the east, but from the west.

So that would put the kaybash on Luleå/Kallax, I`m afraid. More hints in my next post.

                                Cheers,
