'fraid not... one fact and one hint:

    Fact: 2 runways, approx. 2400m and 3700m

Hint: some of the air services landing at this airport in the past have been so special they have an auspiscious place in history!

      • Hokeydokes... info. as far as I can ascertain:

        Elevation is around 1000m.

International airport served by few scheduled European airlines: BA, Brussels Airlines and KLM. Martinair also operate a regular cargo service.

Although it would seem that Air France dont fly here the carrier is very relevant (in respect of my previous hint) to this airport's history.

            Sorry, not Hyperabad.

            1) Info. / hints so far but a little more specific:

            a. The short runway is > 2400m by 0.333333...(recurring)....%
            b. The long runway is a squidge over 1.1% < 3700m
            c. The elevation is slightly > 1000m
            d. The special air services I mentioned were from Israel

And, just in case you're wondering: THIS IS A NON CALCULATOR PAPER

            2) New info.

            (i) The terminal as per this post was constructed during the 1970s
(ii) The airport also has military ops.

Absolutely... and, as you will know, those armed forces were modelled upon the British SAS (Special Air Services).

                Your turn.

                • Righto then...slightly different way to this one....

Named after a famous person who served in the military, rising to staff sergeant.

Airport has 2 runways forming the shape of a lance corporal's stripe.

Not sure about this: Sheremetyevo International (renamed Zakhaev Int. after Imran Zakhaev)?

                    • IIRC, the stripe for the lance corporal stripe is formed like a flat 'v', and since you mention two stripes, I'd guess Madrid-Barajas.

                      • Not Sheremetyevo...and the Lance Corporal stripe in the UK is shaped V. The American equivalent is ^, which is the country we are in. Sorry, I may have distracted you there.

They also have a connection with a World War One Sopwith Camel fighter pilot.

                          • Let's look at the facts again...

                            Named after a famous person.
Famous person rose to rank of staff sergeant in the military.
Airport has 2 runways in the shape of an inverted V.
Associated with a World War One Sopwith Camel fighter ace.

One of the above is...ummm...well, it's true....but with tongue in cheek !

Also associated with something found on probably just about EVERY commercial aircraft cabin in the world....unless someone on board has a medical problem.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
