    • Hey guys-no takers?
      It is in Israel.
As a BIG clue- named after Israel's FIRST prime minister.

      • In that case it can only be Ben Gurion airport TLV in Tel Aviv.

          • Alright, I'll go with something that is probably easy to solve:

Dual-runway airport that used to once have 8 runways.

One of the busiest airports in the world.

Yup, probably was too big of a hint.

                  • If your charter jet to the UK is full when it leaves this airport at the end of your holiday you will probably have to refuel about 40 minutes later.

I thought LHR had "only" 7 runways instead of 8?

Alright then.....the AIRCRAFT will have to refuel . Because of takeoff length and runway slope most fully laden UK bound charters have to refuel about 40 minutes north of here.

                          I got that part!

Mmm, they arrive in the UK from the north. So most likely either North America or Scandinavia. How about a ski-charter to Ostersund in Sweden?

                          • No, you misunderstand I fear. They refuel about 40 minutes north of the airfield we are looking for before continuing on to the UK. You won't be doing any skiing anywhere near this airfield. Not on snow anyway.

Nope, during the 50s or 60s, LHR had their "Jewish Star" layout on the main field, where parts of all 6 runways are still visible today, and two further runways to the north in a triangular layout.

As for the airport in question now, I'm thinking somewhere in the Caribbean, so I'll just go with the ever-popular SXM for starters.

Interesting answer in that there is a colloquial comparison between SXM and the airport I have in mind. Not the Caribbean, other side of the Greenwich meridian in a fairly warm climate.
