      • Continuing with a sporting theme....

A Formula One race driver won only one race in his World Championship winning year. It happened at the race circuit close to this airport. During that year no other driver won more than two races.

        • That's indeed an easy one, so I'll pass it to somebody else

BTW, I remember having seen that race ... on color TV already

          • Nationally speaking, there's a very good reason why you should know that one Gerardo.

            • Color? Leaves out Juan Fangio I suppose?

You folks have been too quick for me as of late, kind of like watching two good fighters box so I am out of the ring but enjoying the game!

              • You'll need to be as keen as mustard, or maybe keen on mustard ! to find this one.

                • I am doing "geo" word association here and one word comes to mind the "Levant"? (parable of the mustard seed)

I have no clue why, but am I sorta' on the right track?

Wait ... Mike Hawthorne, Reimes and you were aiming at "Grey Pupoun" or French's Mustard?

                  • Not Reims, but your mustard thoughts are getting close. And the F1 driver was much later than Mike Hawthorn.
One more runway than there are airlines serving this place.

                    • Pastrami On Rye Aerodrome in the south of UK?

                      Dijon Bourgogne de Aeroport perhaps?

I hope that cuts the mustard? That, is an expression that grates on my ears like fingernails on a chalkboard. My boss who was a real mental midget would use that instead of "cuts the muster" or "that is a mute point". His malapropism was legendary.

And for the record if my F1 memory serves me correctly I believe it was Keke Rosberg who won the race for Williams at the 1982 Swiss GP at Dijon-Prenois?

                              Correctamundo...

And if anyone wants to know why the Swiss GP was held in France it's because that after a massive crash at Le Mans in the 1955 24 hr race that killed the driver Pierre Levegh and 83 spectators the Swiss authorities banned motor racing in Switzerland.

                              • A bit of a misunderstanding here..

Guamainiac is the winner of this one with Dijon Bourgogne.
