You do have a point there. Thank God we Brits didn't go into the Euro currency. I remember how we got turned over with decimalisation.

          But back to the topic.....
The burning question is...is Gerardo correct with Zurich ?

            Haha good one there

Sorry Gerardo, not Zurich either even though i have to admit you had some good evidence there

            Next hint:

The airport is only 14 metres over sea level!
By plane the airport is exactly 1362 km ( 846,5 miles) away from Sheffield and 1197 km (743 miles) from Frankfurt

                    • Arlanda is too high but at 14m amsl with a photographers hump overlooking the runway and about the right mileages.......

.......Stockholm Bromma Airport would just about fit the bill ?

If I'm right Gerardo you take the next go. We need some new blood in this thread.

                      • FRA/ARNspotter: is that OK?

Brian: I can gladly continue, but be warned, I'll be away for a week with limited internet access. If that's still OK, then I'll start a new one.

                          • OK, as suggested by Brian, there we go.

                            First hints:
                            - European airport with one runway
                            - Mostly national flights. International Operations: 1 scheduled flight, some charters and some military
                            - Airport is to be closed in the near future
                            - Was founded as military airport during WWII
                            - largest carrier here has a "color mismatch"
