  • Mmm, just a blind guess:

Le Mans Arnage Airport (LME) in France and are you thinking about the 24hr races?

Made that a bit too easy really didn't I ?

Rich refers to the airfield handling the business jets of the race teams competing in the 24hr race.
      Over to you.

      • Well, let's try this one:

        Island airport.
One single runway, just over 11.000ft.

          • Nope Brian.

But I have to admit you are thinking in the right corner of the world.

              • Not Freeport.

First terminal building was build 1949; however the first aircraft to land was from KLM in 1939.

                • Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados.

I ought to have known that straight off, I was there last October.

                    Maybe a bit to simple?

Well Brian, over to you again.

                    • Right, hopefully this one won't be so easy.

                      Has a Motorsport connection.
                      No scheduled services.
A hyphenated name the second word of which is the same as an Internationally known brand of clothing.
Two runways, one hard one grass.

                      • Mmmm, difficult.

First guess was Monterey Peninsula Airport, near the Laguna Seca racetrack.
                        Isn't Seca a clothing brand?
Two runways, but I am not sure the small one is grass.....

                        • Nope, not Monterey...and that's on the wrong continent.

The airfield isn't near the race track....it's part of it so PPR is a necessity before you can land here. Actually, "race" track is a bit of a misnomer, there's no actual racing here, just testing and track hire days.

An F1 grand prix used to be held at a proper circuit not far from here.

                          • Very close, just to the southeast is a little hamlet the name of which suggests you could use it to purchase the clothing mentioned. The clothing is generally regarded as being stylish but hard wearing.

                            • Lands End Airport?
Live, from a grassy knoll somewhere near you.

                                ...which it isn't.
