Even with only a red X to go on, I guessed it right (I had seen the photo earlier today at the office), so yeah it was easy.

Will post a photo a bit later, just give me some time to dig into the archive.

That's the one. More specifically, it's the one at the Air and Space museum in Washington.

                • I have really no idea. Maybe a small hint?

I have something better for you Erwin... nice big chunks of fuselage, stabilisers and undercarriage:

Nice try, but not a Swift. here's more of the nose section:

                        • It's a long shot, but would it be a Aermacchi MB-326?

'fraid not. here's another cross section... if no-one gets it after this, the next one is going to have to be the full photo.

                            • I'm thinking....does this aircraft have two engines ?

....and might they not necessarily be the same type of engine ?
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

And I'm thinking... although I think I know what Brian is alluding to, how might I answer this considering that I could make a case for both "no" and, to a lesser extent, "yes" answers depending upon how I interpret the question?

Although I will clear this ambiguity up, at the last, I favour a policy of providing information that, hopefully, has integrity for both scenarios, so I've decided to answer it in a way which should give you the answer you're looking for.... and much more!

                                The full photo.
