Corrections to images in the database.
    by brianw999
Found this photo while uploading a photo of the real 44-87779, as this one says in the comments, should be 44-83663. Screeners can you fix this? S/n 32304

    https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/7236204
A few comments to make here. Would those who find a data error please fix it by using the "Correct Photo" facility found at the bottom of the image and not by adding a comment to the image. Also, please don't email the photographer as there is no guarantee that the data will be changed.

If the correction includes a registration or aircraft type/manufacturer change them please also check the c/n as this will almost certainly be different. A Google search is the best place to check in the vast majority of cases.

    Thank you.

Valid Star Alliance flight numbers for this summer
    by LH-B744
In my eyes, one of the meanest things when you travel is, not enough information. And especially now that DL, AF, AC and LH again try to fly, everybody needs info. Mr Rodeback was so kind and he tries to find Valid SkyTeam flight numbers for this summer, with a little help from friends, if needed..

And I try to find valid flight numbers for my favorite airline, and friends. Probably numbers do not tell everybody everything, so, I like to include flight number, departure, arrival and aircraft type.
    Let's fly again!

LH #400 FRA - JFK, operated with type B748.
    LH #404 FRA - JFK, a/c type B748.

AC #873 FRA - YYZ, type B77W, which in this case theoretically is a choice for the Canadians, B772LR?, but here on my screen I even see the registration. That definitely is a B773ER.
    ..to be definitely continued.

    Welcome back, dear passengers!

    Helicopters on Mars
    by Evan
NASA/JL is sending what is essentially a large drone to Mars. How does the physics play out here?

    Atmospheric density:

Mars has a surface atmospheric density equivalent to about 100,000 ft in Earth's atmosphere: averaging 7.5 millibars on Mars to just over 1000 on Earth.

    Gravity:

Mars has a gravitational factor of about .38G.

    Aircraft Mass:

The test aircraft will weigh about 4lbs on Earth.

    Rotor Airfoil:

There are two twin-bladed counter-rotating rotors. The rotor-span is about 4 feet. The airfoils are of a relatively low aspect ratio.

    Rotor RPM:

About 2400rpm. That's about five times the speed of a typical terrestrial helicopter.

Will it fly out of ground effect on Mars?

    Like this?
