Did we almost lose another Air France widebody?

The benefits of hard envelope protections under windshear. A mostly unforseeable windshear situation left the crew of an A340 unable to climb, nearing the end of the runway with nothing but pitch to work with. Normal law protections allowed them to make the most of it without stalling. The aircraft initially remained at 5ft AGL with 13deg of pitch. They entered alpha protect in the process and remained there until the runway end when the tailwind decreased and the aircraft began to climb—passing the runway end at 58ft AGL.

Hate to imagine what a stall would do in this scenario.

    Slit photography of planes
    by sfphoto
    Hi everyone

I am new to the forum and would like to get your opinion on the technique I am using to generate pictures of planes.

I have been experimenting with a technique commonly known as slit or strip photography. In my particular case, I have taken slow-motion videos of taxiing planes. I have written a little Matlab script that allows me to extract the center column of pixels from each frame and put them side by side. The result is a side view of the plane with the background nicely smeared out. Obviously, this is a heavily processed image but still very pretty and an accurate side view of the plane. It seems as if such images are not allowed on jet-photo, nevertheless, I would like to hear your critique and if you know of other people doing something similar. BTW, this technique also works extremely well with trains. Thanks!

    Advice for an unusual situation
    by Jordan Williams
Recently I was made aware of an Instagram account which took images from my Jetphotos account and posted them up as their own, however as standard as this sounds (we all know pictures get stolen from time to time), the account that is using the images is doing it under my name with details on there such as my age and the city I live (creepy I know),

Regardless I put a complaint into Instagram which was rejected as my personal account which doesn't feature any plane spotting (as I don't do anything like that on Instagram) doesn't line up with the fake. I also messaged the account with obviously with no success, so I was wondering If anyone else in the Jetphotos or aviation community have had issues like this in the past and had any ideas how to go about it?

    Kind Regards,
    The real Jordan Williams
