One year before I was born, the upper deck of the 747 seemed a little different than today. I have seen TV footage where they tried to establish something like a cigar humidor, with wing chairs, candelabrum and open fire on the 747 upper deck. Those days have gone by, definitely.
But the 747 survives. As you and me.

No, thankfully I'm only a survivor of what I think was a near disaster. Back in the 70's I think I only flew like twice--in the entire decade.
