  • Nope :/

Yeah, there's also that. Because WebP is a relative new technology, IE does not support it. But the other ones does. The percentage (I think) is related to what I said about how many requests in a period of time the photo has, as it's more acessed, the CDN delivery it as WebP....

  • I think it's solved, I tried to download it again and the file came as WebP despite the "jpg" on the link. As I said, it looks like the server convert it to WebP as the photo became more requested, to preserve bandwidth. And this is a huge thing for photography websites, as que quality matter the most. https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/5/35903_1619378138.jpg

The 2 photos posted by trenchjp one over the other with "difference" blending mode selected in photoshop. Look at the huge differences mainly at the edges (sharpen).

  • MAYBE there is something related to the files after they get accepted. A friend of mine noticed this on airliners.net some time ago. In the queue the file was exactly the same as on PC, after it was accepted, some of them, not all, were converted from JPG to WEBP, probably to save bandwidth (from the server and for the viewer), but this format kill the quality and it's insane to have something like this on a photography site. But from the links you guys posted, they show JPG files, even after downloading it, so maybe is a compression issue?

  • Hello Laurence, nice explanation.

I think that FR24 database is very focused in larger airports, lots of small airports/heliports are missing. In Brazil, for example, you can find the complete list of airdromes/heliports at https://aisweb.decea.mil.br/download...r_completo.pdf

But I think you may have a better way of have this information in an airac database. I like so much to take pictures on smaller undiscovered airports as I'm flying my CPL. And the map feature at Jetphotos profile is so amazing to "track" your photo history.

I use Air Navigation Pro to navigate and it contains all of the registered airports here in Brazil (I only found 2 errors and reported to them), maybe you can talk to some of these navigation app guys to take their database (?)

Some of the examples that does not appear on map:
