The term "hot photo" is not a description of the photo itself. It is not dependent on the temperature, the lighting, or the photographer's opinion of the photo. It is another way to say "newsworthy", or otherwise worthy of skipping the normal screening queue and being screened before all of them in order to keep the site as up to date as possible....

  • Although the concept does not really make sense to me, it is quite cool to see that work and produce a sharp finished image. However, the plane looks a little squashed (either that or the engines are just too large), and the wings both bend upwards in an uncharacteristic fashion and have taller winglets than the plane has in real life.

    Gradients

I've recently noticed a few photos with what seem like obvious graduated filters applied to the top/sky in the photographs. Out of respect for the photographers I will refrain from posting specific examples, but I was just curious if this was a new change in motive and edit acceptance or if they just slip through? Again, I do not mean to call anyone out or bash other photographs/photographers, I am just curious because I hadn't seen them get accepted here until recently....

  • I'm not a screener, but photos in the queue will not get prescreened or receive any feedback to preserve the integrity of the queue and screening process. Either remove the image from the queue and upload it to a prescreening thread, or wait for the photo to get screened normally.

There is nothing you can do to hide the date on the photograph, unless the date is unknown and the photo is otherwise special enough to have that overlooked. If you don’t want the EXIF data showing, you can hide that when uploading the photo, but under no circumstances should you lie about the date. If the EXIF is incorrect, there shouldn’t be an issue if you tell that to screeners in the Comments to Screeners box. Also, if incorrect EXIF data is in fact the case, I would recommend correcting it in your camera to avoid issues like this in future....
