Looked like the plane got a nasty breach in the body. I wonder if that plane is now scrap.

The pilots and the air traffic control really performed to perfection. Amazing. Maybe Pratt & Whitney needs better processes, but this crew has performed in a way worthy of professionals.

Makes me glad planes do not fly over my house on takeoff. And my insurance company might be equally glad. Wow, those things sure "share" a lot of their parts with unwilling recipients.

In all my years of looking at air safety, I've never seen this thing of invading "bravo airspace". Just by accident I stumbled on a video where it happened. Then doing a search, I discovered general aviation getting instructions and not following them is not unique at all. Good argument for small airfields far away from commercial aviation?

Reading the discussion. Probably little in it not known to a qualified pilot. But when disaster strikes, how the pilot reacts is the only knowledge that matters. Bobby and Juan Browne seem to agree. Ignore the fancy technology and control the plane....

That's what Juan Browne on Blancolirio said: Too much automation dependency. In fact, the continuing education in the simulators should be frequently refreshing the consciousness of automation dependency. Any machine operator needs confidence of being master of the machine, not a servant of it.
