Hello,
Recently, I have been submitting lots of photos and getting many of them rejected for just one reason: Too much or too little contrast. Upon reading a thread in the forum, I know now that 99 percent of the time, it is too little contrast, but I still would like to know about some things to look for when editing contrast. Could someone give me tips for editing to get a good amount of contrast?
Here is a link to the recently rejected photo:

Thanks so much,
Daniel M....

Contrast Rejection: Need enlightenment
Just got a rejection here due to 'contrast' reason

Is it too low of a contrast? In my opinion the only visible black objects in that image are wheels and registration letters. Sunlight's also there....

aidanosb94 - rejections/editing help
"Too much or too little contrast" this reason for rejection drives me nuts as I have no idea how to re-edit to fix the photo. I've tried submitting the below photos quite a few times with different contrast settings and keep getting that reason for rejection, but I don't know if I have too much or too little contrast so have no idea how to fix them. Would love some input. Thanks!

Boeing747_8 - Editing Help
So just recently many of my photos have been getting rejected for 'Too Little or Too Much' contrast, but when I take a look at the histogram, I notice that there is no two different spikes, and instead the histogram suggests that contrast is actually fine. I know the below photos are rejected for other reasons too, which if someone could explain to me exactly what they mean, because I personally disagree, that'd be awesome!

Yaacov Glezer - editing advice
Again, my photo has been rejected, and I don't know if it's too much, or too little contrast.
The histogram is full from dark to bright, also the color histogram.
https://www.jetphotos.com/viewqueued_b.php?id=6218525
So, is it too much to too little?
Isn't it time to split this rejection into two reasons? one for too much, and the other for too little....

Backlit + Too much/little contrast wrong + categories wrong or missing
I am a new member, number of my photos was rejected (I have to progress) and I would like to understand.
For this photos

Screener wrote
- Backlit
Cant I do something in batchprocessing? Jetphotos reject this kind of photos?
- Too much or too little contrast
That mean, in my case that the luminosity histogram showing the graph climbing up the sides at each end, that's correct?
- Categories wrong or missing
What I have missing when I filled the form?
When I receive the submission results, the link in this paragraph is broken
Please be sure to check out our Photo Upload Guidelines page, for detailed photo submission guidelines, as well as detailed explanations of every rejection reason.
Thank you for your help

Too much or too little contrast
Hello all, I recently got another photo like this one rejected for "too much or too little contrast". I then reduced contrast and tried again but still got rejected for the same reason. What do you guys think?

Prevent "too little or too much contrast" rejections
Hello, After several people in the forum helped me with my questions about how to prevent soft rejections, I have had much succes in that. More recently my rejections were due to a dirty sensor (had it cleaned yesterday), and due to "too little or too much contrast". So far I have calibrated my screen with a spider express. Other than that, I am a bit confused about the rejections. I would like to know the following: - too much contrast? - too little contract? - how can I improve the image in question? - how can I prevent it. I think with answers to my questions I will learn a lot (again) and I can improve my images. On a side note I would also like to learn a bit about 'curves'. What are they, and how are they correctly applied? I know it's quite a list (that's why I am asking, as for me it seems like a recurring 'symptom'), but the images in question I would like to learn from are: ...Last edited by Derice; 2010-06-06, 13:10.
