In fact, one would better be a keen aficionado and lover of details related to the flying and disection of it, as about 75 % of the show is dedicated to the "Office". On the other side, they tend including two types whenever possible along with a visit of some ground depts (usually maintenance), therefore adding to their interests. Should I would be a professionnal flyer, I think I would look to collect them avidly, especially the small and mid size airlines flying older stuff (just for one Merpati 737-200 and Fokker 2, and see them again and again

My collection & thoughts on how good they were:

Flight in the Cockpit VHS:
-Carnival 727 (OK)
-Royal L-1011 (excellent) 727 (good), 737-200 (good), A310 (good)
Challenge Cargo 757 (excellent)
Both Fine Air DC-8 videos (both are OK)

World Air Routes VHS:
Atlas Air 747-200/-400 (excellent...DFW-ATL leg is my favorite)
Eurowings A319 (OK)

World Air Routes DVD:
United 777 (good)
CO Express ATR-42 (OK..would've been better had ATC chatter been easier to hear)
Canadian North 737-200/F-28 (excellent DVD...my favorite one. Damaged by my brother...yet to order a replacement)

Since that post, I've bought:

Icelandair/Air Iceland 757/Metro/F-50 (good)
YES L-1011-500 (OK)

I ordered the Polar 747 "Round the World" & the Jetsgo MD-80 for Christmas...I'll let you know what I think when I get to see them.

A year or two ago, they were getting rid of their VHS stock of World Air Routes and the airport videos. The videos were all on sale for under $10, which is how I accumulated most of my small collection. I have yet to buy a DVD because of the prices.

-Polar 747-200/400 was pretty good...I'd recommend it. You get to see more of ATL than you did in the Atlas video, which was nice.
-Jetsgo MD-80 was also pretty good. If you're interested in the MD-80, pick it up. One interesting thing about it was that two F/Os from two of the earlier Royal "Flight In The Cockpit" videos are now Captains for Jetsgo & fly legs on this DVD...Pete Christensen (Royal A310 STN-YYZ) & Chris Lewis (Royal 727 video).
