Does anyone out there have photos from during the Australian Pilots Strike about 1990-ish? My dad took a few but the quality is a bit off. If anyone's interested, I uploaded a few of them to http://www.messner.us/pix/air/air.htm. I also found a few of them on A.net, but only about 1/2 dozen.
For those who don't know, almost 15 years ago, domestic pilots from Australia's two domestic operators (then Ansett and Australian) went on strike over pay and conditions. The airlines then hired scab labour in the form of charters from overseas. The more memorable planes operating domestic routes in Australia included America West 737s, a JAT 737, a Monarch 757, a Royal Brunei 757, Inter European (IEA) 737, Trans European (TEA) 737s, Dan-Air London 727, Hapag-Lloyd 727 and probably one or two others I can't think of right now. The RAAF also operated C-130s and 707s on passenger flights, and I seem to recall Qantas (which was then exclusively international) diverting some of its fleet to domestic duties.
