Not the best way to conclude a year . I try my best to keep posted in case volunteers would be asked for. My most sincere sympathy.

This is horrific. 11000+ dead. I'm stunned.

Any idea if the US military base at Diego Garcia was hit? It is an island south of India and is home to about 3,000 US soldiers and civilians...

Of course it was hit, people been dying all over, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Seychelles, Somalia, Sri Lanka and Thailand have lost people. Other places affected with no reported loses of life, Australia, Mauritius, Oman, South Africa and Tanzania.
No word from Comoros, Madagscar, Mozambique and Yemen but I´m convinced they also got hit.
