  • Computer Question

    Hello everyone,

When I try to download something, instead of asking me to "save" or to "open", it just directly starts to download.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks
    Will F.

What browser are you using? Should be in the browser settings.

upgrade to firefox. Firefox: when the download window open just don't leave the option to "Open with" and use the "Save to disk" option.

                        Here is your best option:

                        and then get firefox

sorry, can't help with IE either...

but in Firefox, there is an options in the Options tab where you can choose whether to automatically save in a certain location, or manually choose a location each time

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel

Open 'Folder Options', then click on the 'File Types' tab
Scroll down to ZIP, click the 'Advanced' button, and make sure that the 'Confirm open after download' box is checked.

It should prompt you now whenever you want to download a .zip file...
